We are Futures and National Schools Partnership are two youth engagement agencies designed to facilitate connections and learning for school children and young people, both of which are brought to you by AccessAbility Marketing Limited (We/Us).

We understand that as part of our engagement with you, we have an important role in protecting your personal information.  We are committed to ensuring that the way we collect and use your personal information will be transparent, and conducted in accordance with our obligations under relevant privacy law.

This notice is in addition to our terms & conditions which govern your use of our We Are Futures website or our National Schools Partnership website. Information that we collect about you

We collect information about you in a variety of situations, some of which we obtain directly from you, some may be provided by a third party, which we ask you to confirm.  In each case, we will collect the information that we need to provide you with answers to your questions or access to our campaigns.

Where we are collecting personal information about specific pupils participating in a scheme we will provide you with a separate privacy notice to explain this in an age-appropriate manner.

Using your information to keep in touch with you

We may use the information we hold about you in order to send you information about our campaigns that we think may interest you. This will include annual reminders of campaigns you participated in last year, or new campaigns that you may be interested in joining. This is referred to as ‘direct marketing’. We have a legitimate business interest in promoting the campaigns that we run, for the benefit of schools, pupils and the organisations hosting a specific campaign. We invite all our contacts to be part of our community, and to sign-up to receive communications with your consent; if you wish to stop receiving these communications, please let us know and we will respect your request.

We may contact you by e-mail or telephone message for direct marketing purposes unless you inform us that you do not wish to receive direct marketing.   Each time we send you direct marketing, we will remind you that you can opt-out by contacting us either by telephone on 020 7198 8374 or email to comms@wearefutures.com.

We may also promote specific opportunities through targeted messages placed on your social media home page based on the information you include within your profile.

Third parties to whom we may share your information

We may share your personal information with selected third parties, including:

  • The selected third party who is supporting the campaign you are participating in. This is managed on a campaign by campaign basis, and only where we have informed you that this will occur. The third party organisations will handle this information as a data controller, who may have different privacy terms to us.
  • Our suppliers and contractors to enable us to provide the website or other services, which may include third parties who are located outside of your country of residence. We only use reputable companies and always ensure that they meet our stringent security requirements.
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our website.
  • Our data partner The Education Company Ltd, in relation to data obtained from registrants based in Republic of Ireland only.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • If we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use which includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection.

Secure collection and storing of your information

All information that you provide to us, or we collect about you, is stored on our secure servers and we have put in place a range of suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure your information.

You are responsible for keeping your user name and password secure to ensure the information remains confidential.

Our staff have limited access to your data, and are trained to ensure that it is protected, and kept secure.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site.

We have measures in place to enable us to only keep information for as long as is necessary to run a specific campaign, to meet our legitimate interest in marketing other campaigns, and to ensure that we have appropriate auditable records of our business activities, or as required by law.

Whilst we try to keep data within the EEA, your data may be transferred and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area as part of our hosting arrangements, or as part of a supply arrangement. Where this occurs, we will take steps to ensure your data remains securely protected.

Your Rights

You have a number of rights under the data protection laws, including the right to request:

  • Access to your own personal information. This is sometimes known as a ‘subject access request’.
  • That any inaccurate information we hold about you is corrected
  • That information about you is deleted in certain situations
  • That we stop using your personal information for certain purposes
  • That your candidate profile is provided to you in a portable format
  • That decisions about you are not made by wholly automated means

Many of the rights listed above are limited to certain defined circumstances and we may not always be able to comply with your request.  We will tell you if this is the case.

You also have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for direct marketing. We will inform you (before collecting your information) if we intend to use your information for this purpose or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for this purpose. If you choose to make a request to us, we will aim to respond to you within one month.  We will not charge a fee for dealing with your request, unless we are permitted by law.

If you are unhappy with how we are using your personal information or if you wish to complain about how we have handled a request, then please contact us via comms@wearefutures.com and we will try to resolve your concerns.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the statutory regulator for data protection law.  Details of how to complain to the ICO can be found at https://ico.org.uk/concerns/.
